"3 Places You Must Visit in Oslob"

1.) Baluarte Ruins

The Oslob Baluarte, or watchtower in Spanish, was constructed in 1788. Its primary function was to offer a secure location where guards could look out over the surrounding region. It was a component of the defense system that kept the Moro invaders at bay in the past, along with six other watchtowers along Oslob's coastline. Ruins of an old watchtower stand just next to the cuartel. Because of how well this strategy worked, the residents of Oslob were able to fend off a similar onslaught in 1815 and have lived in peace ever since. This led them to move the town from their fortified encampment at Daanglungsod, which is now in ruins but nonetheless spectacular, to its current location.
